Well, when I first heard about this new version of the Addams Family,   I wasn't very excited. The New Munsters came to mind, and that sucked. Well, once I checked out the show I was very pleasantly surprised! It's a lot closer to the classic Addams Family than The New Munsters, that's for sure. Glenn Taranto does an awesome Gomez, and Ellie Harvie [from Stargate SG-1 and The Sixth Day] is pretty smokin [goth chicks rule] as Morticia. John DeSantis [from Thirteen Ghosts] plays the towering butler Lurch, while Michael Roberds does a perfect homage to the original Fester Jackie Coogan. The rest of the cast is great too. I still recommend the classic, but the New Addams   Family is another cool take on Charles Addams' characters. The original Gomez Addams, John Astin [from Night Court and Eerie Indiana] even appeared on the show. There were only 65 episodes made, and I heard it was canceled even though the ratings were good because each episode was expensive. Still, I'd rather have high production value than more episodes made cheaper. As I write this, the show is currently being rerun on Showcase. So check it out if you get the chance. That 70's Show is one show I can never pass by, I can't think of one episode I'm tired of seeing. It's about a group of friends who mostly just hang out, get a buzz on and   tease and play jokes on each other. Every one of the kids are great, but my favorites are the ultra-hot Jackie [Mila Kunis] and the constantly paranoid Hyde [Danny Masterson, from Face Off and Puff, Puff, Pass]. The adults are great on the show too, there's Eric's Parents Red [Kurtwood Smith from Broken Arrow and Star Trek: Voyager among many others] and Kitty [Debra Jo Rupp from Friends], Bob [Don Stark from Timecop], both Howard Hesseman and Tim Reid from WKRP in Cincinnati had characters, and my favorite Leo the Hippie [legendary godfather of stoners Tommy Chong from The George Carlin Show, Up In Smoke, Still Smokin, Half Baked and Evil Bong]. The show has ended now, and aside from some cast changes at the end I think the whole run was really cool.  The recasting of Eric's sister Laurie from the awesome Lisa Robin Kelly to somebody else really sucked and the addition of Josh Meyers as Randy was pretty bad, but even those couldn't hurt the show too much. The cast no longer being kids near the end was the real thing for me that said the show was finished. Fez especially was outgrowing the part by the time it was over. Still, you can't go wrong with pretty much any episode. So if you really want a laugh, just watch That 70's Show! Babylon 5 is epic sci-fi at its best! Unlike most shows, it wasn't written a show or even a season at a time. Nope, the whole thing was plotted out before the first   show was shot. So some obscure reference or prediction in one season is probably referring to something a couple of seasons down the line. It's the coolest way I've seen to do a sci-fi show! For a show with a basic premise similar to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, it couldn't be more different. The only thing is you really have to watch the show in order without missing too many episodes to get the full B5 effect. Everyone in the cast is really great, with Garibaldi [Jerry Doyle], Ivanova [the very hot Claudia Christian], G'Kar [Andreas Katsulas], and Londo [Peter Jurasik] being my favorites. What I really admire   about the show is there aren't any western or victorian episodes, or whatever other crutches other shows use. They stick to sci-fi all the way through. Crappy episodes like that are one of my major pet peeves about trek. Plus B5 has lots of non-humanoid and even some non-oxygen breathing aliens. That's another advantage it has over trek. And by following an epic story, B5 pretty much avoids the standard formulas you'll find in a lot of other sci-fi [ahem, trek]. Don't get me wrong, I'm a trek fan, but B5 represents a real [and awesome!] alternative. Trust me, if you get the chance, check out Babylon 5! And now it's out on DVD, so there's no excuse not to! Damn, this show is funny! It's one of the best comedy shows I've ever seen! Every episode is a classic! It's about a small radio station in Cincinnati. The cast is great and   everyone's funny. Arthur "Big Guy" Carlson runs the station which is owned by his domineering mother. He spends most of his time sleeping, playing with toys and avoiding station business. The series starts with the Big Guy hiring Andy Travis as the new program director. He changes the station's format to rock and roll and hires Venus Flytrap as night DJ. Flytrap is Tim Reid's most famous role [he was also in Stephen King's It]. Their other main DJ is one of the coolest characters ever on tv, Doctor Johnny Fever!! Howard Hesseman [later on Head of the Class and That 70's Show] is absolutely brilliant as Johnny Fever. Johnny Fever is outrageously funny and cool! My favorite episode is when Johnny and Venus go   up to the transmitter because of a bomb threat at the station, that's classic tv at it's best! The nerdy newsman Les Nessman who has tape on the floor where he thinks his office walls should be is always funny. Loni Anderson plays the gorgeous, highly paid and underworked secretary who is always being chased by their sales manager Herb Tarlek. Herb is the world's worst dresser and just as bad at sales. Also, there's the very hot Bailey Quarters who tries to be a voice of reason. I've never seen an episode of this show that wasn't outrageously funny. WKRP is out on DVD now, and even though there are lots of music replacements, I'd still recommend it! The logo links to a great WKRP site with pictures, theme song and even video clips! 7 Days is a great sci-fi show and one of the best examples of a time travel series. It's about Project Backstep,   that uses tech from the Roswell crash to power a machine that can jump back seven days. Jonathan LaPaglia plays Agent Frank Parker, the guy they send back when everything goes apeshit. LaPaglia is perfect as Frank, and I read he left a job as a doctor in Australia to get into acting. You'd think that a show like this would just turn into the "disaster of the week", but the writers always kept things fresh. Nick Searcy [also from American Gothic, Castaway and Runaway Jury] is the perfect nemesis for Parker too. I've heard it said that the show would've lasted longer than three seasons if it   was on a bigger network than UPN. Well, I know how the big networks treat most sci-fi [just look at Timecop and Now and Again as examples]. I think it lasted longer because UPN needed every good show it had. I also read that Justina Vail, who played Parker's love interest Olga actually didn't get along with Jonathan LaPaglia. She even stormed off the set [and didn't come back] before season 3 was finished. Overall, I'd say all three seasons are very solid and I'd recommend any episode.
