Angel is a spinoff from the great show Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Of the five seasons, I definitely liked the first one the best. In the first season, it was just Angel [David Boreanaz], Cordelia [Charisma Carpenter] and Doyle [Glen Quinn, unfortunately died in 2002]. The character of Doyle made the show for me, but was killed off before the first season was over. Then after Doyle left, he was replaced in the cast by Wesley [Alexis Denisof]. I hated Wesley for a while, but he grew on me. Later additions to the show include Gunn [J. August Richards], 'Fred' [Amy Acker], Lorne [Andy Hallett] and most recently the coolest vampire Spike [James Marsters]. Overall the show is great, but for me season 4 had a huge quality drop. During that season, the writers wrote themselves into a corner on so many aspects of the show, as demonstrated by their season finale that erased all their crappy writing mistakes in one shot. Season 5 has had some great episodes, but after the infamous puppet episode [514 - Smile Time], which incidentally is one of the stupidest episodes I've seen of anything, and the next couple being a retread of the possession that happened to Cordelia now happening to Fred, it's no surprise to me that Angel was canceled. The last two shows were really good, I thought the show ended well [and probably the right time too]. Just be sure to check out the earlier seasons on DVD. Fastlane was purely about loud music, fast cars, hot women and guns, and it never said it was otherwise. It only ran for one season and was canceled mostly because of how expensive each episode was. It was about two renegade cops who are signed up for deep cover work using confiscated money, cars, etc to sell themselves as players. Van Ray [Peter Facinelli] and Deaqon Hayes [Bill Bellamy] work for Billie Chambers [the always hot Tiffani Thiessen] who runs the storehouse for all the confiscated stuff, called The Candy Store. In one very memorable episode, Tiffani Thiessen even makes out with Jaime Pressly! I won't be forgetting that one any time soon. And Robert Forster was great as Van's old man, former counterfeiter Ray Ray. The show was put together by music video creator McG, and it's full of quick cuts and fast editing. I really loved the show and I hope they release it on DVD very soon! Oh, and if you like Fastlane, check out Las Vegas. The title links to a cool Fastlane desktop wallpaper I just made!
